Secret Santa

It’s that time of the year again.

My workplace always plays secret santa. We have a budget of $20. Traditional secret santa gifts range from jokey things, novelty items, inspirational books, candles, soaps, hand creams etc. Last year someone gave me perfume, which was a brave choice. Perfume is so hard to match for people, especially for people you do not know. Anyway, sadly, I don’t use perfume anymore, so that little box is still perched on my shelf. I haven’t worked out what to do with it.

This year, my giftee is a person I like very much. Straightaway I knew what I wanted to do. I painted a pet portrait for her. She loves her fur baby like a child.

I know this would identify who her secret santa is immediately, but never mind. I think it would be a gift that would be very much appreciated and would be kept.

I haven’t done a pet portrait before either, so this was a new and fun project to do. So here is my new finished work “Think he’s so tough”. Acrylic on canvas. 12″ x 12″
